The birth of telephony, however, did not pave the way for business to make modernization actions by diversifying usage and mode in the last thirty years. When people started to use the telephone as a way to do business with a larger audience across the world, it made the roles of linguists essential in catering to a diverse market. People, as we know, from all over the world, do not speak one language. There are dialects that are even more complicated than we imagined them to be, in the same way that there are minority languages that are less diffused especially in developed economies.

Owing to a rather great influx in migration during the 1940s leading into the 1970s, telephony was tapped to facilitate language interpreting and make business operations broader in dimension and coverage. The industry of language conversion over the phone was eventually developed to aid in this process. More than thirty years have passed and the industry has still force that is yet to be reckoned with.

In a 2011 report by Common Sense Advisory, a leading market research firm, telephone interpreting trends has been growing rapidly in the last ten years. It has accounted for a whopping $995 million in global revenue. Its market share all across industries have also dramatically increased during this period.

In another study presented by an independent research company during the same year, it revealed that the industry had less variable phone interpreting trends from 2001 to 2007. Figures and statistical data were flat in the charts. Satisfaction rate was also quite static at 58%. During the period of 2007 up until the year the research was made, there were staggering differences in the figures. Demands from other sectors showed an increasing trend, while satisfaction rates up at more than 80%.

The phone interpreting trends show an increasing awareness for the industry of telephone interpreting. Businesses and individuals have realized in full scale the benefits and advantages of getting interpreting services over the phone. Such a remarkable trending pattern only ensures that the growth of the industry will continue to soar within the next decade, even the next century.

Telephone interpreting diversifies market shares. Especially when businesses want to take part in the globalization campaign, means and ways to take the operations further have to be taken to ensure that they take an equally satisfying slice in this widening market. When goals are powered through effective means – telephone interpreting for instance – then businesses and individuals can surely take on more ventures that will ultimately increase the rate of success whatever industry they choose to venture in.

Phone interpreting trends show a constant increase in the last years. The ease of use and lower costs associated with this method of communicating has made telephone interpreting grow tremendously.
